A Liberty Note is original digital artwork printed onto genuine United States currency. Our artwork is produced using high-tech printing equipment, resulting in museum-quality collectible pieces.
Is it legal to make art on money?
Yes. It is legal to create artwork on genuine U.S. currency, provided it is not altered with fraudulent intent. We are grateful for the freedom to create and express ourselves through art.
Is it still real money?
Yes. Every Liberty Note begins as authentic United States currency. However, because the note has been artistically modified, modern cash-handling machines and bill readers may not recognize it for face-value transactions. It is intended to be enjoyed as collectible artwork.
Are Liberty Notes popular?
Absolutely. Liberty offers a wide variety of themes—from American history and patriotism to wildlife, sports, military, first responders, and pop culture. Collectors often discover a series that speaks personally to them.
Are Liberty Notes mass-produced?
No. We intentionally produce only small batches. Every note is individually created and hand-signed by the artist, making each piece part of a limited production.
Is there hand-painted work on my note?
Most uncut sheets receive hand-painted accents at the artist's discretion. The placement, colors, and extent of these enhancements vary, making each finished sheet individually distinctive. Single Art Notes are not hand-painted. Each Liberty Note is created one at a time, with its own serial numbers and exact artwork placement. Product photos represent the design; your artwork may differ in these unique details.
Are your editions numbered?
Some are. Limited editions are individually numbered and produced in fixed quantities. Once an edition is complete, it is retired, making those notes especially desirable to collectors.
