Abigail Adams — Remember the Ladies celebrates one of early America's most thoughtful and influential voices. On March 31, 1776, as the colonies moved toward independence, Abigail wrote to her husband, John Adams, urging him to “Remember the Ladies” when creating the new nation's laws. Her words remain an enduring reminder that the promise of liberty should be considered for all.

Abigail's influence extended far beyond her letters. During John's long absences on public service, she managed the family's farm, property, and finances, and made investments in government securities. She spoke against slavery and advocated education for women. She also held a unique place in American history as both the wife of President John Adams and the mother of President John Quincy Adams.

Her life reflects independence of mind, practical leadership, and the courage to speak up for a more inclusive American future.

Artist's Finishing Touches: Most uncut sheets receive hand-painted accents at the artist's discretion. The placement, colors, and extent of these enhancements vary, making each finished sheet individually distinctive. Single Art Notes are not hand-painted.

Part of our America 250 collection, this Liberty Art Note is collectible artwork printed on authentic U.S. currency, not an official government commemorative issue. Each note is individually hand-signed; signature colors and counts may vary.
