Harriet Tubman — Conductor of Freedom honors one of America's most courageous freedom fighters. Born into slavery in Maryland around 1822, Tubman escaped in 1849, then repeatedly returned to guide others to freedom through the Underground Railroad. She became known as “Moses” for her determination to lead people out of bondage.

Her remarkable work did not end there. During the Civil War, Tubman served the Union cause as a nurse, scout, and intelligence gatherer. In June 1863, she helped guide the Combahee River Raid in South Carolina, an operation that freed more than 700 enslaved people. After the war, she continued helping others and advocated for women's voting rights.

Guided by faith, resourcefulness, and extraordinary courage, Harriet Tubman remains a powerful symbol of freedom pursued not only for oneself, but for others.
