SIG Sauer P226 — Fire Power
The P226's service story includes an unexpected second act. SIG Sauer developed it for the U.S. military's XM9 pistol trials, where it was not selected. It nevertheless attracted the Navy SEALs, who adopted the P226 in 1989. A competition result became only one chapter in a much longer history. This collectible portrait invites conversation about the paths that recognizable designs take through American service and popular culture.
